If you’re a music lover who lives in the St. Louis area, you’ll want to take advantage of the many FREE summer concerts across our city. Each year the entire Terra Nova crew looks forward to getting out and relaxing under the sun while enjoying these concerts. Because we know that you are also likely looking forward to them, here’s a list of some of our favorites that you won’t want to miss!
Faust Park - 32 years running, Chesterfield's most popular event is back! On Tuesday nights this summer head on over to Faust Park to enjoy food trucks and live music. Gates open at 5:30 pm and the concert starts at 7 pm. They will also have entertainment for the kids, with the return of the popular Bubble Bus this season! It will be fun for the whole family that you won't want to miss!
Whitaker Music Festival - Held at the beautiful Missouri Botanical Garden on Wednesday nights from May 29 to July 31, the open-air concert series is funded by the Whitaker Foundation, which supports, promotes, and celebrates the arts within the St. Louis community. Music begins at 7 pm If you’re a jazz enthusiast, be sure to catch accomplished trumpeter Terence Blanchard on June 5. Other scheduled artists include Old Souls Revival (May 29), Tonina Saputo (June 12), River Kittens (June 19), The Gene Dobbs Bradford Blues Experience (June 26), Mardra and Reggie Thomas (July 3), Boomtown United (July 10), Annie and the Fur Trappers (July 17), and more.
Downtown Kirkwood - On Thursday nights in June, downtown Kirkwood comes alive with shopping, dining and music! They will have various artists preforming live at Kirkwood Station Plaza. Bring a chair or come early and dine out at one of the resturants along the plaza to enjoy the music. Several shops will also be extending their hours so you can do some shopping too!
Bluebird Park - Their Thursday night Summer Concert Series kicks off June 6th and runs through August 8th. All performances will be held at the amphitheater from 7pm - 9pm. Bring your seats and drinks (but be sure to leave those glass bottles at home). Back by popular demand this year is their local 'Market'. Stroll a variety of booths set up with local food and craft vendors!
Jungle Boogie - These Friday night concerts at the Schnucks Family Plaza in the heart of the Saint Louis Zoo go from 5 to 8 pm. The concert series runs May 24 to Aug. 30. Bring a lawn chair so you have a seat. In the case of inclement weather, the music will be moved inside Lakeside Cafe. Featured musical acts include Wildfire (May 24), Funky Butt Brass Band (May 31), Griffin and the Gargoyles (June 7), Hazard to Ya Booty (June 14), Charles “Skeet” Rogers (June 28), and more. Note: There will be no Jungle Boogie concert on June 21 due to Zoofari, the zoo’s biennial fundraiser.
Schroeder Park - One night a month grab your blanket and head on over to 'Manchester Park's' Corey J. Donnelly Memorial Amphitheater for live music. This year's schedule includes Fat Pocket (June 7), Butchwax and the Hollywoods (July 4) and Headknocker (Aug 2). With their amazing line up this year you are sure to have a blast! Chesterfield Amphiteater - Did you know that they offer a free concert series every summer?!? Apart from their normal concert schedule, the 'Sounds of Summer' concert series is completely free! This event takes place 2 Saturdays a month June - August, click the link to see their line up this year. Doors open at 6 pm and you can grab some food from the food trucks while you wait for the show to start at 7 pm.
Creve Coeur Summer Concert Series - Millennium Park is hosting their 5th annual summer concert series. Concerts are being held on the 2nd Thursday of each month and start at 6pm. Kids can play in the splash pad while you relax and enjoy some good music!
Des Peres Park - The annual summer concert series, "Hot summer nights, cool summer sound" is set to kick off with Dance Floor Riot on June 14th. They will have a concert the 2nd Friday of the month through August. Concerts are scheduled at 7pm - 9:30pm. Food will be avalible for purchase or you can bring your own!
Musical Nights - Clayton has a lot of exciting events happening this summer! Musical Nights in Oak Knoll Park is scheduled from June - September on the last Saturday of the month. You can enjoy live music in such a beautiful setting! The concert is from 5pm - 7pm so you have plenty of time to go out and explore Clayton's food seen afterwards!
