At Terra Nova Construction, we take great pride in creating long-lasting relationships through our business endeavors and believe that developing similar ties within our community is equally important. This strong desire to support our city is exemplified by our involvement and commitment to local non-profit organizations in the St. Louis area.
One of the non-profit organizations that we stand behind in our community is Habitat for Humanity: St. Louis ReStore. Habitat for Humanity is a national organization whose mission is to construct affordable homes for families in communities who spend a disproportionate amount of their income on rent. ReStore is a division of this non-profit made possible by donated items from people within the community. All proceeds from the sale of the items go directly towards funding the home building efforts within the cities in which ReStores are located.
St. Louis ReStore has two locations open to the public where largely discounted home-furnishing supplies can be purchased and also donated. The concept behind Habitat for Humanity: St. Louis ReStore is to create a space that allows for individuals to purchase slightly used and repurposed building materials at a fraction of the cost in order to maximize home refurbishing efforts and to minimize the impact on the environment by utilizing recycled materials.
The organization offers donation pick-ups as well as deconstruction services, in an attempt to make it as easy as possible to donate any qualifying supplies. If you are personally planning a home project, the deconstruction services may be the right option for you. Habitat for Humanity: St. Louis ReStore has a deconstruction team consisting of employees and volunteers that are available to help with the deconstruction process at no cost to you.
Habitat for Humanity: St. Louis ReStore has listed donation guidelines on their website in order to serve as a quick reference guide for acceptable items and their accompanying requirements. The charitable organization accepts a wide array of household items, including tile, drywall, electrical fixtures and an assortment of appliances. An added benefit for anyone who is able to make a donation is the ability to receive a tax receipt for donated items. If you are unsure if your items qualify for donation or if you are interested in learning more about the donation pick-up services, you can call the organization’s donation hotline at 314-678-4576.
Due to the changing nature of inventory, making an in-person trip to one of the two locations in St. Louis will be the most accurate way to find out what items are currently in stock. Habitat for Humanity: St. Louis ReStore does update its Facebook page with featured items at each location.
Thanks to our generous customers, we have been able to make several donations throughout the year to this local non-profit organization. We are proud to continually support this organization’s efforts of improving our community. To learn more about ways to get involved with Habitat for Humanity: St. Louis, please visit their website.
