A Basement for the Whole Family

What do you do when you're a family with several young kids and you have a large unfinished basement as a blank canvas for design?  You transform it into a play space for both kids and adults of course!

This basement design is not your average play room.  The homeowners envisioned being able to utilize the space for the kids sports, lounging, dance and gymnastics. The challange of the design process was to figure out a layout that would function to accommodate their wish list.

The end result is a basement with a spaces designed for the whole family to enjoy!  The star feature is custom indoor sport court with digital score board and viewing area. On the other side of the plexiglass viewing windows is a comfortable lounge area for adults watching either the game on the sport court or the game on the TV screen. 

Adjacent to the sport court is a separate playroom and studio space for gymnastics, dance and a theater stage for the children's performances.  A full bath and aracade room with bar tables complete this space. This basement is one of a kind and is sure to be the family's favorite space for years to come!
